Welcome to the Center for Human Rights and Justice Bookstore Co-op

The Center for Human Rights and Justice (CHRJ) seeks to inform and involve UW Law students in the critical human rights issues of our time. The CHRJ Bookstore Co-op sells used books at low cost to students who need them and may be struggling financially. All the money raised by the bookstore funds CHRJ programming and a public-interest or diversity-focused scholarship.

How to Search for a Book:

You can search for a book based on the author, title, course, or ISBN. Each book has been designated a condition: as new, very good, good, fair, and poor. Below, the conditions are defined in further detail:

How to Reserve a Book:

To reserve a book, click on the book title you would like to reserve, enter your UW email, and click the "reserve" button. This will reserve the book for pick up.

How to Pick Up:

CHRJ will facilitate in-person book pickups from outside Gates Hall. Pickups will take place on the following dates and times:

Any reserved books that are not picked up will be placed back into circulation.

To ensure everyone’s safety during the book pickup we ask that you remain 6 feet apart at all times and wear a mask. No mask, no book.

How to Pay:

You will pay for the book during the pickup. The cost of the book is based on the condition. All books are between $10 - $40. We are currently only accepting credit cards and unfortunately cannot accept cash at this time.

How to Cancel a Reservation:

To cancel a book reservation, you must email a CHRJ board member at uwlawchrj@gmail.com. Please be intentional with your reservations and only reserve books you plan on picking up.
